At Belle Robes Atelier, we only ever want your information for one reason: to get a beautiful dress to you, look after you as a customer, and run our small business properly. We're not in the business of selling or trading your personal information, and we never will be.
Belle Robes Atelier (“Belle Robes”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Davidan Pty Ltd (ABN 49 613 149 741). We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

The kinds of personal information we collect and hold include:
Identity and contact details
Your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses.
Hire and order information
The items you hire, your hire dates and order history, and any sizing, fit or styling preferences you choose to share with us.
Payment information
Your card or payment details are collected and processed securely by our payment provider, such as Shopify Payments, Stripe or PayPal. We do not store full card numbers ourselves. We receive only limited transaction information, such as confirmation of payment and the last few digits of the card.
Communications
Messages, emails and reviews you send us, including any photos you provide, for example, of a garment that's been marked or damaged.
Technical and usage information
Your IP address, device and browser type, and how you use our website, including pages viewed and links clicked. This information is collected through cookies, similar technologies and our analytics tools.
Marketing preferences
Whether you've opted in to hear from us and what you're interested in.
We don't seek to collect sensitive information, such as health or racial information. Please don't send it to us unless it's genuinely necessary. If you do, you consent to us handling it for the purpose you provided it.

From third parties acting for us
Such as our payment provider, delivery partners, and the platform and app providers that help us run the store.
If it's reasonable and practicable, we'll collect personal information directly from you. Where we collect it from someone else, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know.

Like most online stores, our website uses cookies and similar technologies. These are small files that help the site work and help us understand how it's used.

We only use your information for the purpose we collected it, for a related purpose you'd reasonably expect, or as otherwise permitted or required by law.

We share personal information only where we need to and only with parties who handle it appropriately.

Service providers acting on our behalf
- Our website and hosting platform, Shopify.
- Our payment provider, including Shopify Payments, PayPal and Afterpay, where applicable.
- Our delivery partners, such as Australia Post and any courier.
- Our email and marketing tools, including Shopify Email, Klaviyo.
- Our analytics provider or providers, including Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel.
- Our IT, accounting and professional advisers.
Regulators, courts or law enforcement
Where we're required or authorised by law to disclose information.
A buyer of our business
If we ever sell or restructure the business, your information would continue to be handled under a policy at least as protective as this one.
We require our service providers to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we've engaged them for.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for unrelated third parties' own marketing.
6. Sending Information Overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia.

No method of online transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and keep our practices up to date.

We comply with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.
If a data breach occurs that's likely to result in serious harm, we'll assess it promptly and notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where we're required to.
10. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this policy or for as long as the law requires.
For example, we keep financial and tax records for the period required under Australian law.
When we no longer need your information, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or permanently de-identify it.
11. Accessing and Correcting Your Information
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if it's wrong or out of date.
Contact us using the details in clause 15.
We'll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. There's normally no charge, although if a request is complex, we may charge a reasonable amount to cover our costs. We'll let you know first.
If we can't give you access or make a correction, we'll explain why in writing.
12. Children's Privacy
Our service is intended for adults.
Where a hire is for someone under 18, the booking should be made by a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children without that involvement.
We'll also keep this policy in step with the Children's Online Privacy Code as it comes into effect.
13. Automated Decision-Making
We do not use automated processes to make decisions about you that have a significant effect on your rights or interests.
If this changes, for example, if we introduce automated fraud or eligibility screening, we'll update this policy to explain what those processes are and the kinds of information they use.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, our providers or the law.
The current version is always the one published on our website, with the effective date shown at the top. Please check back from time to time.
